Annie Wright is seeking a Middle School Math Teacher to teach, to begin on August 20, 2018.
Annie Wright Schools serve students from age three through high school. Annie Wright Lower and Middle Schools offer co-ed programs in Preschool through Grade 8, while separate Upper Schools for boys and girls offer day and boarding options in Grades 9 through 12.
The Middle School Math Teacher is responsible for teaching Middle School Math (Grades 6-8) in alignment with the mission and philosophy of Annie Wright Schools and with the IB Middle Years Programme framework. Working closely with colleagues in the Middle School, s/he implements the Math curriculum using best practices in teaching, student-centered instruction, and relevant educational technologies. S/he fulfills all faculty duties and maintains good communication with families about student progress.
The ideal candidate holds a MA in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; has experience teaching Math at the Middle School level in an independent school; is familiar with the International Baccalaureate and its programs; and demonstrates enthusiasm for working with Middle School students and for the subject, familiarity with trends in math education, and flexibility. Experience teaching or coaching coding or robotics is a plus.
