Experience with standards-based grading and with geometry instruction is preferred but not required. Possibilities for department leadership may be considered.
Candidates must possess demonstrated competence and experience in the content area and pedagogy for middle school. A Master’s degree in mathematics or a related field, and a minimum of five years of successful teaching experience are preferred. Qualified candidates should be able to teach all levels of middle school mathematics, including algebra one and geometry. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility, energy, enthusiasm, high expectations of themselves and their students, and an understanding of the developmental needs of middle school students. Ability and interest in coaching at any level is a plus but not required.
