Bancroft School seeks a Middle School math teacher to join our dynamic team of educators starting in August 2018. We are looking for someone who can teach sections of sixth through eighth grade math (pre-algebra through algebra I), lead our MS Math Team, and bring interests, expertise, and fresh and engaging ideas to our Middle School Clubs program.
Bancroft’s desire to expand its emphasis on inquiry-based learning provides opportunities for creative approaches to teaching and learning. Experience in designing and implementing projects in math is a plus as we continue to develop and refine our curriculum. Technological savvy is a must in our 1:1 environment as each Middle School student and teacher utilizes personal technology both inside and outside of the classroom. A master’s degree in math or math education is strongly desired.
We seek collaborative teachers who are ready to participate in all aspects of Middle School life. The teacher will work with other teachers in the math department and across disciplines, and will report directly to the Head of Middle School. A willingness to participate with enthusiasm in all aspects of the school community is essential.
This job may be for you if you:
Have math teaching experience in a middle school classroom.
Have experience or expertise teaching students with language-based learning differences and understand the philosophies that drive our Hope Graham Program.
Can be a model for adolescents and colleagues when it comes to working hard, staying curious, trying new things, being enthusiastic, and demonstrating original and creative thinking, all while being kind and inclusive.
Are willing to search for fresh and creative opportunities to strengthen and build upon Bancroft’s Middle School program.
Are fearless about jumping in wherever you’re needed.
Bancroft is committed to cultivating and sustaining a community that embraces difference and welcomes candidates who will add to the racial and cultural diversity of our community.
If interested please send a cover letter, references and resume to: Nichole Aubin, Executive Assistant to the Head of School, firstname.lastname@example.org.
