High School Math and Science Department Lead
Stratford School
Ready to put your experience and expertise to the test? Leave your mark as we launch Stratford School’s first high school - Stratford Preparatory! As our Math and Science Department Lead, you will work with a small cohort of teacher-leaders and advisors who will serve as “founding faculty”. You will begin working together in July 2018, to develop the high school’s curriculum and programs, contribute to classroom design plans, promote the school to prospective students and their families, help select the first class of students, and assist in hiring the first full set of teachers, who will begin their work in Summer, 2019. Founding faculty will work closely with the school’s founding head of school, fourteen months before the actual opening of the high school. A little about us Since our founding nearly two decades ago, Stratford Schools has progressed from a single schoolhouse in Danville California to a network of two dozen campuses in the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California. We serve students from preschool through eighth grade, and in September of 2019, we will launch our much anticipated high school - Stratford Preparatory, in Santa Clara, California. The school will open with 75-100 students and build, over four years, to a capacity of about 320. Our curriculum will adopt key elements that have attracted students and their families to Stratford schools, while adding new signature programs that will be created and developed by founding faculty. A little about you You are ready to spread your wings and are both a jack-of-all-trades AND master of at least one! As an experienced science or mathematics teacher who has successfully assumed leadership projects in a school setting and you are passionate about creating and developing an exemplary STEM program. You are eager to innovate and do your very best work! A typical day During the first year, you will work with a small group of brilliant teacher-leaders and apply your creativity and expertise to build signature programs in math and science. At the same time, you’ll be actively involved in selecting our future staff, providing training and launching the curriculum. In the Fall of 2019, you will lead the faculty for Math and Science, providing instruction, mentoring and continuous improvement. You will also teach.
