The Middle School at Milton Academy is seeking a full-time Middle School math teacher to begin in September 2018.
The teacher will teach four sections of eighth-grade math focused on algebra using the Connected Math Project curriculum. We are looking for someone who is deeply committed to teaching adolescents and who loves working with this age group. A bachelor’s degree is required and a concentration in math is expected. Three years of classroom experience at the middle school level are preferred, and the ability to work in a diverse community is essential. Full-time faculty members participate fully in the life of the Middle School including advising a group of about 8 students and coaching and/or sponsoring a club or activity in addition to other responsibilities.
Qualified candidates will have demonstrated skills in differentiating instruction and incorporating multiculturalism in their teaching. Flexibility, creativity, a sense of humor, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to being a collaborative team member within the faculty are all critically important. A qualified candidate will also possess excellent communication and writing skills; technological proficiency is assumed.
