Responsible for taking on additional department chair responsibilities.
Department chairs must be successful teachers with excellent leadership, interpersonal, and decision-making skills. He or she is responsible for creating a challenging and supportive learning environment among colleagues and students. A successful candidate will be have a strong work-ethic, a collaborative leadership style, and deep knowledge and experience with middle school math curriculum. Experience with Singapore Math and/or commitment to professional development preferred as the Lower School is rolling out the curriculum for 4th grade in 2018-2019 and will be continued with grade 5 the following year.
Strong and advanced knowledge of the course content and pedagogy is imperative.
Good organizational skills along with technological proficiency and adaptability.
B.S. in Math or Math Education, Masters’ degree preferred.
4 or more years teaching experience teaching Middle School Math.
