Starting Fall 2018, Saddle River Day school is seeking a full-time math teacher for students in grades 7-8 with some 9th-grade students. The classes are prealgebra, prealgebra advanced, algebra level I, and algebra level I honors. SRDS math classes are inquiry-based emphasizing design-based thinking and student problem solving. Students are very active and engaged in their learning and are supported in demonstrating their understanding in a variety of ways.
A full-time teacher is also an academic advisor for 8-10 middle school students and is fully involved in the co-curricular opportunities for students such as being a club mentor and chaperoning field trips.
Saddle River Day teachers are dynamic individuals who are dedicated to designing relevant and engaging instructional plans for their early adolescent-aged students. The middle school team of teachers engages in curriculum design and revision and plans interdisciplinary units of study together.
The successful candidate will integrate technology into their teaching and enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues and students.
