A history of teaching math in a middle school setting
holds a degree in a mathematics associated field
able to help students build skills in all areas of mathematics, problem solving, etc.
demonstrates good grammar and speaking skills
able to work with students at various levels, motivate those who are overwhelmed
demonstrates strong writing and superior teaching skills
is open to integrating projects with other disciplines for in-depth studies
demonstrates excellent character and good class management skills
a proven legacy of outstanding classroom performance
able to prepare a lesson plan that reviews as well as teaches new skills
demonstrates a willingness to learn how independent schools work
an ability to be an innovative, collaborative, and positive member of the faculty is required

Dedicated to developing character and the abilities to think and communicate clearly, Canton Country Day seeks to fully prepare its graduates to meet the challenges of rigorous secondary school programs and to assume positions of responsibility in their communities.
Responsibilities:Responsibilities include curriculum planning, implementing instruction, and executing effective classroom management strategies using the Responsive Classroom methods. Additionally, all teachers are expected to communicate with parents throughout the year through regular correspondence, weekly classroom updates, conferences, and grade reporting periods. All teachers should provide guidance and support to both the students and their families, and working closely with grade/division level team members, specialists, administrators, and other colleagues to ensure that all students make academic and social progress in accordance with our school’s mission and core values.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited school with an applicable license/credential. The ideal candidate will hold an appropriate Ohio HS Integrated Math (7-12) licensure, and be highly qualified to teach under that license.
