Tallulah Falls School is an independent, coeducational college preparatory boarding and day school nestled in the northeast Georgia mountains. TFS opened its doors in July 1909 with 21 pupils, and the school will open for the 2018-19 academic year with 540 students in grades five-12. Tallulah Falls School is seeking a talented and versatile middle school mathematics (Pre-Algebra and Algebra I) teacher with a desire to positively impact the educational and social development of every student. Prospective applicants must prove quantifiable and objective student performance gains, and demonstrate a commitment to student learning by creating a nurturing class environment. Candidates will want to be part of a family-oriented academic environment, where serving our students is the top priority. An in-field Georgia teaching certificate and a BS in Mathematics Education are required; an MEd in Middle Grades Education or an MEd in Mathematics Education (six-12) is preferred. The ideal candidate should be able to: create, foster, and model a positive and collaborative learning environment; plan, structure, and execute meaningful and engaging lessons and activities; implement a 1:1 rollout of Chromebooks; teach technology, keyboarding, and facilitate the use of the Google Apps suite; improvise and adapt quickly with infinite patience and an unrelenting sense of humor; demonstrate the confidence and courage to influence and inspire students, parents, and colleagues. Coaching at least one sport is expected; currently there are coaching openings in volleyball, soccer, golf, and basketball. Minimum of five years teaching experience is preferred.
