This position exists to assist in the instructional process in the Anoka Technical College mathematics curriculum and retention, as well as provide support in the college Math Learning Center. This includes:
Tutoring students in mathematics;
Organizing and facilitating study groups for math;
Providing study skills sessions for math students;
Assisting instructors to design and implement best methods for both in and out of classroom instruction; (Note: We will do this for all students)
Providing mentorship and work direction to college work study math tutors;
Overseeing the evaluation and implementation of software used by math students as supplemental learning tools;
Help math faculty with low-level non-subject student assessment.
Post-secondary coursework in Math sufficient to provide technical lab services for students, faculty and staff
OR 6 months of teaching/tutoring experience in Math at the high school level or above,
OR An equivalent combination of education and work experience
Knowledge of the subject matter
Knowledge of instructional methods for developmental mathematics
Knowledge of the needs of the underrepresented and technical student population
Customer service experience
Experience in a fast-paced environment and the ability to multi-task
