Beacon Academy seeks to hire a dynamic and entrepreneurial upper school math teacher to join our experienced and innovative faculty for the 2019-20 school year.
Upper School Mathematics Teacher
The most desirable candidates will have the following background or comparable experience:
A master’s degree with a minimum of five years teaching high school mathematics
An entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to interdisciplinary work
Ability to teach IB Math is preferred, not required
IB or Montessori experience
Experience with project-based teaching and collaborative learning
Works effectively with parents as a partner in the student’s education experience
Uses a variety of communication/teaching styles and methods
A proven willingness to experiment with different teaching strategies
A history of continued growth and development as an educator
A history of effective collaboration with colleagues
Holds students to a high and clearly articulated standard of performance
Has an interest and experience in interacting with students outside of the classroom in co-curricular activities: sports, arts, social service, etc.
