Sugar Bowl Academy, an independent day and boarding school for students in grades 8-12 in the Lake Tahoe area, is currently looking for a full-time math teacher with the ability to teach the possibility of algebra, statistics, geometry, and/or calculus classes. Rich content, innovative pedagogy, and authentic relationships are essential components of an SBA classroom. Competitive candidates should demonstrate a history of excellence as a teacher within their own area of expertise, an innovative and creative way to thinking about curriculum needs and opportunities across all subjects, and knowledge for ways to integrate technological opportunities within the academic curriculum. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, teachers, parents, and administrators. The ability to provide those elements while working collaboratively with colleagues and placing the best interest of our student-athletes at the heart of the classroom experience is vital to this position. A B.A. in math is required. A Master’s degree and three or more years of teaching experience is preferred.
