The Upper Elementary Division Math Specialist is responsible for supporting effective elementary mathematics instruction and student learning. The Math Specialist will work directly with students to deepen understanding and use of mathematics while coaching teachers to develop more effective instruction and assessment practices.
Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities
Plan, model, co-teach with and coach classroom teachers, using research-based and differentiated instructional strategies.
Develop student understanding and application of mathematical concepts through the facilitation of experiential learning strategies and practices.
Serve as a resource for professional materials and instructional strategies.
Collaborate with teachers to provide school-wide mathematics professional development and parent education.
Collaborate with EED Math Specialist and other math leaders to strengthen vertical alignment of content, pedagogy, and assessment
Math Specialist certification or equivalent experience
Solid knowledge of children’s learning and development as well as experience teaching children in elementary school
Expertise in facilitating adult learners in the use of effective assessment and instructional practices informed by knowledge of mathematical learning trajectories
Expertise in facilitating adult learners in the use of effective implementations of NCTM’s Teaching Practices as well as the Standards for Mathematical Practice for all mathematicians
Knowledge and experience with technology for the purpose of personalizing learning

Trinity School is an independent co-educational elementary school located in Atlanta, Georgia, serving ages three through Sixth Grade. Founded in 1951, the School is a non-profit, tax-exempt institution governed by an independent Board of Trustees. Since its founding, Trinity's vision has been to provide a nurturing environment in which to challenge students.

EED (Early Elementary Division): Threes through First Grade,
UED (Upper Elementary Division): Second Grade through Sixth Grade
During the 2017-18 school year, about 600 students are enrolled. Trinity's 43-acre campus is located in northwest Atlanta.
