Saddle River Day School seeks a full-time physics and math teacher. The physic classes include AP Physics C, physics honors and college prep level. Math classes may be algebra and/or geometry. Full-time teachers teach 5 classes, advise a group of 8-10 students, offer a club or interest group and may participate in the extracurricular life of the school.
SRDS runs a block schedule in which each class has two 80-min periods and one 40-min period each week and class sizes average between 10-14 students. The science and math departments work closely together to promote strong curricular development and share instructional techniques.
The successful candidate will enjoy sharing scientific and mathematical understandings with students and consider ways in which course content may be applied to real-world situations. Engineering, modeling and a commitment to the investigation of natural phenomena are a fundamental theme of the SRDS science program. Teachers who can incorporate instructional technologies into their teaching and those who are open to student research ideas will find SRDS a good match.
