Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress.

Maintain accurate and complete student records, update counselors with student progress, and adhere to administrative requests for progress reports.
Update the Haiku class management site on a regular basis.
Assign and grade class work and homework and return the work in a timely manner.
Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health and communicate with academic counselors and administrators in order to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems.
Communicate issues with the appropriate administrator.
Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly, safe, and productive classroom environment.
Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs.
Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Prepare students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.
Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic problems, or special academic interests.
Use technology, including Google classroom, Smartboard, TI-Nspire Calculators, Desmos, and others, to supplement presentations.
Communicate with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress, and to determine their priorities for their children and their resource needs and respond promptly to any parent communication.
Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of math courses.
Sponsor extracurricular activities such as clubs, student organizations, and academic contests or be involved in some extracurricular activity.
Attend staff meetings, and serve on committees as required.
Perform duties such as assisting with lunch supervision, chaperoning dances or events, proctoring exams, attending faculty meetings.
Provide information to Department Chair, co-workers, and administrators by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person as well as respond to emails in a prompt manner.
Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
Keep up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
Possess problem solving skills.
Ability to teach curriculum from Algebra 1 through Calculus.
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or STEM field; Master's Degree preferred.
At least 3 years of full-time teaching, preferably in an independent school.
Experience with technology.
