Part-time teaching positions in Mathematics for Summer.

Examples of Duties:
Classes will be based upon academic content standards and benchmarks which may include the online ALEKS system. Instructors will be expected to facilitate structure in the math lab, monitor student progress, assist in the learning process and general classroom management. Topics range from Pre-Algebra through Pre-Calculus to ensure students are ready for college.
Additional Examples of Duties – if applicable:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or equivalent required by June 1, 2020. A minimum of one (1) year teaching experience. A student-centered philosophy of learning and the ability to interact effectively with other instructors, Upward Bound staff members, students and parents required. Innovativeness, understanding of limited income, first generation college-bound students, knowledge of methods for motivating students, experience in working with culturally diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:
Teaching certification, experience with KSU freshman mathematics sequence curriculum, knowledge of basic computer skills, and of TRIO programs.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
Academic classes are offered morning and afternoon, weekdays. Classes start June 9, 2020 and continue through July 10, 2020. Class schedules will vary. Teaching staff will also be required to attend mandatory staff trainings at dates and times to be determined, and other preparatory meetings prior to June 9, 2020, in addition to special program events and post-program evaluation.
This is a short term position and does not accumulate vacation time, and is contingent upon receipt of federal funds.
