Greenhills School is an independent school of 530 students in grades 6-12. The Mathematics and Computer Science Department and the Science Department has an opening for a highly-qualified and innovative math and physics teacher who is deeply knowledgeable about mathematics and/or physics. The primary responsibilities include providing appropriate learning environments for students in grades 6 – 12 as they work through the mathematics curriculum, and for upper school students in our physics courses. Greenhills math and computer science teachers believe in a standards-based, integrated, problem driven approach to teaching and learning math; use appropriate technology (including Desmos, calculators, Geometer’s Sketchpad, statistical software and web-based technologies); and collaborate within the department and with other disciplines to provide real-world experience with problem solving in addition to rigorous experience with the skills necessary for success in mathematics at the college level. Greenhills Science faculty guides its students to a working understanding of the unifying concepts of science and of the practices by which scientists learn and discover the physical world.

Specific responsibilities include teaching four sections of core math courses in middle school, upper school, or both, and physics courses in the upper school, as needed (involving three or four distinct course preparations), and participating in community life through service in advising and co-curricular programs.Teaching experience at the middle and secondary level preferred.
