The Baldwin School, a preK-12 all-girls’ school in the suburbs of Philadelphia, seeks a full-time Upper School Mathematics teacher. She/He will teach four sections of Math in grades 9-12, contribute to advising and co-curricular programs, engage in those duties typical of independent day school life, and support the school’s mission. We seek a candidate with enthusiasm for ongoing curricular development, including incorporation of education technologies and interdisciplinary work as appropriate, and for working in a collaborative setting. An appreciation for and/or an understanding of best practices in girls’ education is a valuable asset for incoming candidates. In addition, candidates with the ability to teach electives such as Economics, Statistics, higher level math, or other interdisciplinary areas of math instruction will be strongly considered.
Candidates should have an M.A. in Mathematics or other relevant field and a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in the discipline, preferably at the upper school level. The strongest candidates will have demonstrated experience teaching a variety of math courses at the upper school level. In addition to expertise in course content, the successful candidate will have experience differentiating instruction and assessment.
