St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks candidates for the position of Lower and Middle School Math Teacher (part-time).
Position Begins: mid-August 2020 Status: Part-time (.60 FTE), Exempt Department: Instructional, Lower and Middle School
This position serves students at the Goodrich Campus whose math placement is advanced beyond grade level, and at the Randolph Campus serves middle school students who need additional support in math.
In the 2020-2021 school year, this teacher would provide core instruction for Math 3 and Honors Math 7 using the Math In Focus Singapore Math curriculum. Each of these math classes meets for 60 minutes per day on a rotating 6-day schedule. In this capacity, this teacher reports to the Lower School Principal.
At the Randolph Campus the position includes Math Resource Room (2:30-3:00 four days/week) supporting 6th and 7th grade students, as well as Middle School Homework Club (3:15-4:00 four days per week). In this capacity, this teacher reports to the Director of the Center for Learning and Teaching.
This is a part-time (.60 FTE for the 2020-2021 academic year), adjunct position and is eligible for renewal annually. We anticipate that this position will fluctuate from at minimum a .40 FTE up to .60 FTE based on the number of Lower School math sections needed in a given year.
Provides differentiated instruction for students in small group or whole group settings.
Uses curricular tools and best practices in math instruction to promote student achievement and progress.
Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, sessions, units and projects.
Utilizes formal and informal assessment data from students to inform instructional practices.
Participates in math-related team meetings, student support meetings and professional development offerings, as assigned.
Writes reports on student achievement and progress
A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and/or Mathematics or other related field required
Experience working with young children preferred
Experience with Math In Focus/Singapore Math preferred
Flexible morning schedule necessary
Availability until 4:00 PM four days/week necessary
Must provide own transportation between the Goodrich and Randolph Campuses
