GRAMMAR SCHOOL Early Childhood Math Coach
The Early Childhood (Pre-K & K) Math Coach will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning in all content areas. The Early Childhood Math Coach will focus on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding of research-based effective instruction. In order to fulfill these expectations, the Early Childhood Math Coach will provide personalized support that is based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers and grade-level teams.
WORK HOURS 7:45am to 3:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 7:45am to 4:30pm on Thursday

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research and provide staff support that will improve teaching and learning – including teaching strategies, assessment of math skills, interpretation, and use of assessment results.
Collaborate and conduct demonstration lessons to support all teachers in instructional practice and the use of instructional materials as designed.
Work closely with the GS Math Coordinator, Curriculum Coordinators, Assistant Director, and Director to ensure the richness of academic programs, use of assessment to inform instruction, and ongoing staff professional development.
Work closely with the Learning Resource Center staff to further develop strategies that support all students’ learning.
Support in the collection and analysis of assessment data to guide professional and program development.
Plan and organize a coaching schedule to meet the needs of early childhood teachers.
Maintain the confidentiality of schools, teachers, and classrooms.
Bachelor’s degree required
Masters degree in Education, or equivalent experience and professional development required
5 years of experience teaching in Elementary school grades required
Experience in a leadership program and/or leading professional development with teachers
An ability to work collaboratively and an interest in current best practices in instruction and
Understanding of and commitment to the mission, goals, educational philosophy and CORE
values of Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School.
