The Phelps School seeks an instructor of upper school mathematics for the 2020-21 school year. Courses could include Algebra through AP Calculus, as well as Statistics.
Teachers at Phelps serve as advisors to as many as five students and are fully involved in co-curricular programs as coaches, activity sponsors, weekend trip chaperones, and community service project supervisors. Some reside on campus in faculty housing and serve as dorm parents (supervisors). Others, “day faculty,” reside off campus and do not have weeknight supervision duties. All are dynamic educators who enjoy working with young men in small classes, engaging collaboratively in curriculum design and professional improvement, and seeking new ways to enhance students’ creativity and critical thinking skills.
Bachelor's degree
PA Teaching Certification or coursework sufficient to obtain PA Private Academic Certification
Facility with a variety of instructional methods and assessments
