Math Teacher

Responsibilities:

• Teach five sections of high school math, ranging from Algebra II to AP Calculus / AP Statistics

• Plan and execute lessons, using varied methods of instruction and assessment, that are in accordance with departmental curriculum and competencies as well as the School’s educational philosophy
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for and commitment by actively seeking meaningful community connections for experiential learning opportunities within and outside the classroom
• Create and maintain an appropriate classroom environment and help enforce school rules
• Communicate with and respond to parents’ questions and concerns in an effective and timely manner through a variety of means (email, social media platforms (as deemed appropriate), telephone).

Residential Life:

• Serve as a dorm parent, being on duty in a dorm one weeknight and an average of one weekend a month.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for the additional responsibilities involved in residential life and a willingness to enforce the school policies and rules governing student behavior
• Participate for two seasons of after-school activities/sports.
• Serve as mentors/advisors to their student advisees. Advisors meet with student in small groups and in morning meeting.
