Moses Brown is a 236-year old co-educational independent day school enrolling 750 students nursery through twelfth grade. Responsibilities: Moses Brown seeks a full-time math teacher to fill a one-year position for the school year 2020-2021. The successful applicant will teach 4 sections of math that may range from entry level to the Advanced Placement level. Working collaboratively with other members of the math department is important to our school culture. All full-time teachers also supervise co-curricular activities after school for 2 of the 3 seasons of the academic year.
To note: Currently, Moses Brown School is planning for a return to campus for fall classes. But, like all schools, the ongoing pandemic has created some uncertainty in terms of both enrollment and educational delivery models. We are proceeding with searches to fill a number of vacant positions for next year and will follow our search process as fully as we can; we look forward to meeting you. Given the uncertainties, however, we want all candidates to know that we will likely not finalize any new hires until early July. We anticipate having enough information at that time to finalize our staffing needs for the fall.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited institution. Two to five years of teaching experience is preferred, although not a requirement for application. Master’s degree or beyond is desirable. We seek candidates who are passionate about their desire to teach, advise, and learn from high school students, and candidates who are eager to embrace and forward the Quaker mission of the school. We welcome applications from candidates with experience teaching in a distance learning format, or with experience designing education for a digital platform. We welcome applications that show experience teaching any of the following: AP Computer Science Principles, AP Calculus BC, and/or AP Statistics.
This position is full-time for the 2020-2021 school year only.
