Annunciation Orthodox School (AOS) seeks a dynamic, driven math expert to lead our K-8 math program to new heights. The perfect candidate will take charge and invigorate the AOS math program by introducing new research-based approaches, facilitating various forms of professional development, and leading conversations about curriculum, vertical alignment, and math pedagogy. This position will primarily work with teachers and will also collaborate with various members of the school’s administration team.

Start Date:Immediate opening
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-3:30 PM; additional time as needed for meetings and professional development.
Examine AOS math standards, curriculum, and pedagogy in service of identifying potential areas of growth
Provide ongoing and embedded learning experiences for teachers that allow for feedback and reflection
Support the recent rollout of a new math curriculum (Math in Focus) throughout the school
Provide teachers and administrators with the learning necessary to design instruction that ensures students develop mathematical skills and collaborative process skills
Connect teachers with current research and best practices to support classroom instruction
Make continuous improvements in key processes, techniques, and procedures related to the math program to ensure profound learning
Administer testing (I.e. ERB) and interpret student achievement data
Work with teachers to assess individual student learning and design differentiated learning approaches
Facilitate the vertical alignment process for the AOS mathematics curriculum
Research, evaluate, and share new instructional strategies, resources, and tools
Participate in PLCs and build capacity in others through PLC work
Facilitate team-building, collaboration, and conflict resolution among math teachers
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Demonstrate innovation and flexibility with curriculum and learning
Demonstrate an understanding of how to create engaging learning environments for adult learners in the delivery and design of professional learning experiences
Act as a change agent committed to making engagement central for everyone
Build an environment of trust and champion teamwork/cooperation
Build relational capacity with students, staff, and community
Commit to continual learning, individually and collectively
A Bachelor’s degree in education, math, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
At least five years of successful teaching experience
Demonstrated facility with coaching teachers and supporting job-embedded professional learning
Knowledge of current research on best practices, curriculum trends, and educational technology
Strong instructional background with the ability to provide professional learning for teachers and administrators
Experience working in a Professional Learning Community (PLC)
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Working knowledge of technology (We are a Google school)
