Math Teacher

Beginning with the 2021-2022 academic year, Cape Henry Collegiate is seeking a full time Upper School Math Teacher.  We are seeking a student centered, energetic and experienced person to join our strong Department for the 2020-2021 school year and beyond. The Math classroom at Cape Henry provides an ideal environment to connect with and challenge students in small classes within a curriculum that meets students where they are and pushes them as far as they can go. A collaborative and experienced department works together to put each teacher in the classes that accentuate their strengths and foster growth and professional excellence.

Position Duties (include, but are not limited to)

• Teach 5 classes
• Serve as an advisor for students and actively participate in the advisory program
• Attend all required faculty meetings
• Engage in the life of the school beyond the classroom and footprint of the academic day
• Perform other duties as required by the Head of School or Head of Upper School

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Ability and experience teaching diverse High School math levels will make candidates particularly competitive, though there is flexibility and the focus is on recruiting a great math educator
• Cape Henry offers courses in the Upper School that range from Algebra 1 through post AP College math classes
• Additionally, we hope to attract candidates who have an interest in being involved outside the classroom in extracurricular activities.
