Middle School Math Teacher and Advisor

Position Summary Collaboration and flexibility are key as this person is a member of the 6th-grade team as well as the middle school mathematics department. The job entails planning and teaching dynamic, age-appropriate lessons in 6th grade as well as being a grade-level advisor. Being able to differentiate and meet the mathematical needs of students is key; content largely involves geometry, number sense, proportional reasoning, problem solving and pre-algebra. In addition to teaching and advising, there is an expectation to communicate regularly and proactively with students, their families, and colleagues while contributing positively to the overall school culture while fulfilling duties as assigned (recess and lunch supervision, field trip supervisor, etc) and serving on all-school committees as requested or desired. Additional Details This is a full-time, year-round, exempt position reporting to the Middle School Principal. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2021.
