The Meadowbrook School of Weston, a pre-kindergarten through 8th grade school located seven miles west of Boston, seeks a middle school math educator to join our faculty starting in April 2021 in a parental leave replacement role. The dates of the leave replacement are April 15 to June 18, 2021.
We are currently teaching on-campus, five days a week. The vast majority of students attend school in-person, while others attend via the Meadowbrook@Home program. Faculty and students who are on campus currently undergo weekly COVID-19 surveillance testing (PCR test), physical distancing guidelines are enforced, and students are in cohorts. More information on safety measures will be provided as a part of the hiring process. You may learn more about our response to COVID-19 at https://www.meadowbrook-ma.org/about-us/covid-19-response.
We seek a candidate who believes the middle school years are essential and who wholeheartedly desires to teach, advise, and learn from middle school students. At Meadowbrook, smart, passionate people join together in an expansive learning environment with rigorous academics and innovative curricula to inspire, challenge, and empower students to achieve at the highest level, connect deeply with a diverse community, and courageously create change.
We strongly encourage applications from people of color, LGBTQ educators, or educators from communities that are historically underrepresented in independent schools. We are committed to an inclusive school experience for all those who come to work at Meadowbrook.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of algebra and geometry. Meadowbrook’s math curriculum is an advanced and fast-paced program, with students in four performance-based groups per grade level. We are seeking a confident, team-oriented, adaptable, and thoughtful educator who will join us in full stride as we continue in our efforts to educate the whole student in this nurturing and rigorous school environment. Familiarity with classroom technology to successfully teach in a hybrid learning environment is a requirement. Working collaboratively with other members of the math department is a requirement. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
